Choose anything from 10 km up to anywhere in the world, or type your own number. Nearby is the point, but it's your call.

We find someone in range
You're paired with a person who is inside your distance and who has you inside theirs. If nobody's there yet, we keep looking while you wait.

Talk, or move on
Video and chat together. Tap Skip to meet someone else, or Stop when you're done. Stop also switches your camera off.

Messages pass through our server so they can reach the other person, and we don't save them.
Location
We use it only to find people inside your distance. It's removed the moment you're matched or leave, and the other person never sees it.

NearHi is new, and no one is watching the chats yet. That makes you the moderator. Skip or stop the moment something feels off, keep your name, address, school and phone number to yourself, and remember this is for adults only.

Is it free?
Yes. Right now it's free and there's no account to make.
Who can see and hear me?
Only the person you're matched with, and only while you're connected. We don't record video or audio.
How does the distance work?
You pick a radius, from 10 km up to anywhere. You're only matched with someone inside your radius who also has you inside theirs. So if you pick Anywhere but they pick 10 km and live far from you, you won't match.
Why am I not getting matched?
Usually nobody is in range yet. Try a bigger distance, or Anywhere. Also check that your browser is allowed to use your location, camera and microphone.
What do I need to use it?
A camera, a microphone, and permission to share your location. Use Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox. Links opened inside Instagram, WhatsApp or Facebook often block these, so open the page in your browser instead.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in your phone's browser. There's nothing to install.
Is it safe?
It's as safe as you make it, like any chat with strangers. You can skip or stop at any moment. Don't share personal details, and leave if anyone makes you uncomfortable. There are no moderators watching yet.
